The study shone in the morning light, and a scholar was playing the qin in the study. Her guqin played in her hands, the sound echoed in the study, deep and distant, lingering. Her scholar attire shone in the morning light, the guqin sparkling in her hands. Her guqin had seven strings, had three timbres: open string sound, stopped sound, harmonic sound, each with a unique charm. She knew the elegance of the guqin — the guqin is one of the oldest plucked instruments in China, with a history of over three thousand years, is an important symbol of Chinese scholar culture. She carries a guqin and a plectrum — whoever she meets, she tells the elegance of "high mountains flowing water." High mountains flowing water, is our soulmate. Elegance is the soul of the guqin."
